The Senior Web Applications Developer is responsible for managing all web centric infrastructure to include the Intranet web portal used by company employees as well as the Extranet public website homepage portal used by those external to the company.

In particular, the new Senior Web Applications Developer is responsible for:

• Driving all aspects of Web Applications Development working collaboratively with the Director of Information Systems to set the organizations objectives.
• Ensuring the organization is equipped with the necessary web centric capability to achieve objectives.
• Ongoing web infrastructure development, maintenance, and driving infrastructure development projects to conclusion.
• Performing all aspects of the development tasks including front-end, back-end and database development.
• This is a highly visible role in the company, and as such, the Senior Web Applications Developer will be expected to interface and collaborate with key business leaders on how to support their organization's business process specific web based information infrastructure needs to drive requirements and produce deliverables that meet specific business objectives via Zhone's web enabled content management system.
• The Senior Web Applications Developer is specifically responsible for: managing contract design and development resources to timely and successful deliveries; working with internal clients to identify recommendation for the appropriate technical, business and human factor solutions; and developing, maintaining, and managing web-enabled capabilities and custom applications.
• Effectively communicating information to and productively interacting with Zhone's senior management and/or non-technical parties especially while operating efficiently cross functionally in a global organization.
• Keeping a focus on the right tasks by determine the right priorities based on feedback from senior management.

The following characteristics and experience will describe the successful candidate:

• This individual must possess +8 years of hands on Web Applications Development industry experience to include Intranet as well as the Extranet web applications development experience.
• The candidate must possess strong creative problem solving and analytical skills combined with the ability to apply business logic to development requirements.
• This role requires the individual be detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to work efficiently and effectively under pressure in a deadline driven environment.
• Highly organized, this candidate must have demonstrated a consistent and proven ability to function exceptionally in all phases of Web Applications Development through each phase of the application development life cycle from consultative needs investigation phase to new application introduction, maintenance, incremental upgrade and phase out.
• Possessing strong expertise in Object-oriented Perl (including mod_perl and CGI.pm), this individual must possess strong expertise in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML, as well as with Prototype and Scriptaculous toolkits. Strong experience with Template: Toolkit is highly desirable.
• This individual must possess excellent verbal and written English communications skills.
• A candidate possessing experience in Apache installation, configuration and performance tuning as well as with AJAX methodologies including JSON; Python; PL/SQL and MySQL; Unix shell scripting and basic system administration; general graphics manipulation (resizing, optimizing, cropping) is desirable.
• Experience integrating web applications with Oracle eBusiness Suite and/or Salesforce.com is desirable.
• Possessing a willingness to learn, this self directed and motivated solutions centric individual is energetic, enthusiastic and able to work successfully both independently and in a team setting.
• As a disciplined leader (where the only easy day was yesterday) having demonstrated they live by the principles of Teamwork (i.e., There is no “I” in TEAM) and responsibility (everyone is a leader), candidate possesses: a winning spirit and a customer success orientation (i.e., customer failure is NOT an option).
• Possessing a consistent track record of developing clear vision, this individual possesses an intuitive nature; tenaciously seek facts to reinforce their ability to make intuitive decisions and recommendations based on facts.
• With a proven track record of supporting the Web Applications Development requirements of a growing business this individual has demonstrated an ability to expand beyond the scope of their role, and execute tactically muscling their way across the goal line when things didn’t go quite as planned.
• While possessing experience in the ongoing management of Web Applications Development projects, and demonstrated the ability to manage multiple project facets and be knowledgeable of relevant client engagements, this individual must be experienced at working within and leading cross functional teams and contributing in a direct hands-on way.
• Strong ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical individuals up to the Executive level both internally as well as with 3rd Party contract design and development providers; able to creatively discuss technology and associated business needs, and collaboratively resolve problems.
• With demonstrated ability to indirectly lead, manage, and motivate teams - this individual must be a team player possessing a strong ability to “listen & learn” from the success and experience of other in a globally dispersed company. (i.e., Knows when to lead - Knows when to follow). Zhone has a strong collaborative team environment.
• With strong internal communications skills, candidate is a bright, engaging, articulate, and highly motivated driver possessing the capacity to assume ownership where needed.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field required, Master's Degree preferred.
