CPE Product Manager

Effectively manage and drive broadband CPE hardware and firmware development priorities and releases for residential class products with a particular focus on Voice over IP integration. This position works closely with engineering and marketing communications to define and document product requirements and drive the overall schedule for firmware and hardware enhancements extending from new product development to current product enhancements and upgrades. This position also has oversight and coordinates interdepartmental, sales and customer communications related to product releases and launch.

The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with 5+ years experience in the broadband CPE, specifically DSL markets with prior product management responsibilities. Outstanding communication, presentation, writing, listening, interpersonal, and people management skills are required as well as the ability to blend technical expertise with business priorities. Excellent organizational and time management skills as well as attention to detail are a must. Relevant technologies include ADSL, ADSL 2/2+, VoIP, Wi-Fi, IP Routing, IP QoS, ATM, Firewalls, Element Management Systems and management protocols such as SNMP, XML and others. Experience with integrated Voice over IP solutions is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Manage the ADSL product line life cycle from strategic planning and prioritization to tactical project management activities and product delivery. Based on market trends and customer requirements, this position will own the development process from definition through development to market launch and end-of-life. Duties would include:
• Act as central conduit for sales, product management, engineering and operations to analyze, define and meet customer requirements.
• Manage the development process and timely delivery of hardware and firmware releases.
• Define and document hardware and firmware requirements and solutions through Marketing and Product Requirement Documents (M/PRDs) based on customer feedback, revenue opportunities and market trends.
• Prioritize and engage engineering on product priorities and timelines.
• Define timelines with tasks, and expected completion dates for hardware and firmware releases.
• Track development progress to insure timely delivery and provide regular status/progress reports.
• Assist with RFP/RFI responses.
• Work closely with operations and manufacturing to insure market delivery and efficiency.
• Engage in customer presentations to communicate technical benefits.
