Prior to co-founding Zhone, from June 1995 to June 1999, Mr. Ejabat was President and Chief Executive Officer of Ascend Communications, Inc., a provider of telecommunications equipment which was acquired by Lucent Technologies, Inc. in June 1999. Previously, Mr. Ejabat held various senior management positions with Ascend Communications and Micom Systems. Mr. Ejabat holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and an M.S. in Systems Engineering from California State University at Northridge, and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University. ![]() Kirk MisakaChief Financial Officer, Corporate Treasurer and SecretaryKirk Misaka became Zhone's Chief Financial Officer and Secretary in July 2003, in addition to his responsibilities as Corporate Treasurer, held since November 2000. Prior to joining Zhone, Mr. Misaka was a Certified Public Accountant with KPMG LLP from 1980 to 2000, becoming a partner in 1989. Senior Management![]() Eric PresworskyChief Technology OfficerAs Zhones CTO, Eric Presworsky is responsible for the development of Zhones Single Line Multi-Service (SLMS) architecture as well as next-generation Zhone product offerings. Prior to joining Zhone, Mr. Presworsky served as Assistant Vice President of Carrier Systems Development for Lucent Technologies Internetworking Systems Division, formerly Ascend Communications, Inc. Prior to Lucent, Mr. Presworsky also held numerous technical management positions at several leading telecommunications companies, including BellCore and XCOM/Level 3. Mr. Presworsky holds a B.S. in Communications from SUNY Buffalo and an M.S. in Telecommunications from the University of Colorado at Boulder. ![]() Mike ScheckVice President of International SalesMike Scheck, Zhones Vice President of International Sales, brings over 20 years of telecommunications sales experience to the organization. In this position, Mr. Scheck has responsibility for the development and execution of all international sales. Prior to joining Zhone, Mr. Scheck was Vice President of ISP and IXC sales at Ascend Communications, Inc. where, under his direction, sales increased from $18 million to $475 million in three years. Earlier in his career, Mr. Scheck held executive-level sales positions at Advanced Computer Communications, U.S. West, and Tymnet. Mr. Scheck earned a B.S. in Marketing from California State University at Chico. ![]() Michael FischerVice President of US SalesMichael Fischer has served as Zhones Vice President of North American Sales since May 2004, and has over 23 years of telecommunications experience. Mr. Fischer is responsible for the development and execution of all sales in the United States geographic market. Prior to joining Zhone, Mr. Fischer held various positions at Advanced Fibre Communications, HickoryTech, Contel and GTE. Mr. Fischer holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering degree from Iowa State University and an M.B.A. from Drake University. ![]() David MisunasVice President of Business DevelopmentDavid Misunas is Zhones Vice President of Business Development. Previously, Mr. Misunas served as Vice President of Market Development in Lucent Technologies Core Switching Division. Prior to the acquisition of Ascend Communications, Inc. by Lucent, Mr. Misunas also held the positions of Vice President of Marketing and Product Management in the Core Switching Division, Vice President of Business Development, and Vice President and General Manager of Voice and Carrier Signaling for Ascend. Mr. Misunas received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and served for several years on Massachusetts Institute of Technologys research staff in dataflow parallel-processing computer technology. ![]() Ed ThompsonVice President of ManufacturingEd Thompson has served as Zhones Vice President of Operations since September, 2005. Prior to joining Zhone, Mr. Thompson had been Vice President of Manufacturing of Paradyne Networks, Inc. since 1993. Mr. Thompson is responsible for Zhone's manufacturing facilities, all of Zhone's supply chain and contract manufacturers, and overall manufacturing quality. Mr. Thompson has implemented numerous quality initiatives, including ISO 9001 certification, customer satisfaction initiatives and delivery improvements. Mr. Thompson earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech, and a M.S. in Engineering Management from the University of South Florida. ![]() Steven GlapaVice President of Marketing and Product ManagementSteven Glapa joined Zhone in July 2007 as Vice President of Marketing. Previously at ArrayComm, as VP of marketing Mr. Glapa worked closely with carriers to clarify network economics value driven by new technology and repositioned the company for success in Multiple-Input/Multiple-Output (MIMO) software for WiMAX and 3G wireless systems. Mr. Glapa's prior experience also includes roles at Booz-Allen and Hamilton, developing strategy for Fortune 100 clients; at Lucent Technologies, as vice president and general manager of IP messaging and applications; and at Banter, a customer service software startup later acquired by iPhrase. Glapa holds an MBA from Columbia University, a BS in mechanical engineering and computer science from George Washington University, and a BA in physics from Carleton College. ![]() Steve DickVice President of Global Service and SupportAs Vice President of Global Service and Support Steve Dick brings to Zhone an exemplary record in building GSS teams, measured in terms of revenues, Quality Assurance (QA) ratings, and 90th percentile customer satisfaction. Mr. Dick has led service organizations for Ascend, Lucent, and most recently IP Infusion, where he drove a 15 percent revenue gain while in charge of engineering, QA, professional services, customer support, and offshore development. Steve Dick has also held positions as the VP of customer service for Kana Software and VP of global service and support for Harmonic Inc. He holds an MBA in finance and marketing from Michigan State University and earned a BS in industrial engineering from Purdue University. |
