The problem today - aging copper switched LAN networks send radio frequency (RF) signals between switches and computers via copper wire which are highly susceptible to RF interference and wire tap.

These signals can not travel more than 300 feet from the LAN switch to the computer and have significant power requirements and massive amounts of copper wiring.

In addition to copper wire distance limitations, copper LAN is taxed with excessive rack and floor space requirements to accommodate all the switches and cross connect panels.
