Environmentally Hardened, DC Powered Mini DSLAM Enables Business Class Metro Ethernet Services over Copper from Remote Cabinets or Central Office Sites

Overview

The 4200IP with G.SHDSL lets the service provider deliver high speed symmetric bandwidth to customers in locations where fiber access is not available or as an alternative to T1/E1 line provisioning. This capability makes the 4200IP with G.SHDSL the solution for deployment of high bandwidth business class services to those customers that would otherwise be limited to lower bandwidth T1/E1 line speeds.

The 4200IP with G.SHDSL provides all the features required to ensure a quality business class service offering. Transparent LAN Services and VoIP are easily deployed using the extensive IEEE 802.1q VLAN capabilities along with the 802.1p prioritization capabilities. These features ensure that the service provider can easily segregate traffic by either traffic class or service type.

The temperature-hardened 4200IP DSLAM can be deployed in remote cabinets where space is at a premium and temperatures exceed typical central office environments. Mounting brackets and lightning protection allows for installation of the 4200IP in many different types of remote cabinets.
