Overview

The EtherXtend T1/E1 line card (MALC-EFM-T1/E1-24) has been designed to deliver high-speed Ethernet services over T1 or E1. The line card provides high-density T1/E1 aggregation, using EFM for low-cost, easily managed transport. With advanced features such as Zhone's Multimedia Traffic Management (MTM) and fully integrated OAM (802.3ah compliant), the EtherXtend T1/E1 line card is ideal for delivering Ethernet over copper.

Supporting Ethernet bonding technologies over T1/E1 circuits, the MALC EFM T1/E1 line card is the most flexible Ethernet aggregation product available; delivering Ethernet access virtually anywhere.

The MALC-EFM-T1/E1-24 provides 24 individual T1 or E1 lines, allowing for data rates up to 1.54Mbps symmetrical bandwidth per port. The MALC-EFM-T1/E1-24 also supports loop bonding, which allows the service provider to bond multiple lines together for bandwidths of over 12Mbps (T1) or 16Mbps (E1) per end user. The EtherXtend T1/E1 line card is compatible with all existing T1/E1 Network Extender CPE, including the TNE1544 / ENE2044 and TNE1584 / ENE2084, which offer 4 or 8 ports of T1/E1 in a fully managed, hardened, carrier-class CPE. For lower cost deployments, the TNE1500 / ENE2000 and TNE1520 / ENE2020 endpoints provide single or dual line termination.
