The MALC is a full-featured Broadband Loop Carrier (BLC) optimized for delivering voice, data, and video services over a pure packet access network. MALC gives carriers the flexibility to cost-effectively deliver triple play services over existing facilities. The VDSL2 line card for the MALC are high density modules that provide very high speed bandwidth for the MALC 319/719 and MALC 723 Chassis.

Zhone's VDSL2 line card for the MALC has 24 ports providing VDSL2 speeds which include the ability to provide high bandwidth symmetric and assymetic bandwidth.
