The VDSL2 line card for the MXK is a high density modules that provide very high speed non-blocking asymmetrical bandwidth for the MXK 819/823 and MXK 319 Chassis. Zhone's MXK VDSL2 + POTS combo line card for the MXK has 24 ports providing both VDSL2 and baseband POTS interfaces on a single line card. The VDSL2 interfaces support speeds up to 100Mbps, and support for high bandwidth symmetric and asymmetric services. The VDSL2 line card for the MXK supports 17a profile using the Broadcom chipset. The VDSL2 line card on the MXK also supports ADSL compatibility, allowing service providers to provide both VDSL as well as ADSL service. The integrated derived POTS lines convert packet voice to PSTN POTS allowing service providers to take advantage of a low-cost packet network and still provide subscribers with traditional POTS service. The card supports packet voice protocols SIP, MGCP, and H.248. For easy migration from TDM voice to packet voice, the MXK can be connected to the MALC Voice Gateway card to provide GR-303 or V5.2 termination with packet voice connection to the POTS card at a remote site.
