Gigabit Ethernet Small Form Factor Pluggable Modules
Overview
Zhone's Small Form Factor Pluggables (SFP) modules can be used in any of Zhone's IP Broadband Loop Carriers which have an SFP slot.
An SFP is a standard for the housing and connector type used in pluggable transceivers. It stands for Small Form Factor Pluggable. The UIM-1000F, MIM-2000F, MIM-4000F, 8429 IP SCP, 4200IP, 2600 and 4800 all use the same SFP modules for Gigabit Ethernet interfaces.
SFPs are hot swappable and interchangeable, providing interface and network design flexibility. SFP modules come in both single-mode and multi-mode form factors.
