Overview
Zhone's outdoor business GPON ONT is a standards based ONT designed with the needs of a small business in mind. T1/E1 circuit emulation over IP allows traditional circuit services over a fiber network. The weather proof enclosure can be installed to terminate and protect fiber connections while the electronics can be easily installed at a later date. The electronics could be installed inside the building with or without the enclosure.
The zNID ONT is only one component in the PON network. Zhone provides the entire FTTx solution to our customers including the OLT, splitters, cabinets, and the ONT.
The 7300 series of Zhone GPON ONT is a standards based GPON ONT designed for outdoor deployments.
The 7310 is designed for small business deployments providing eight derived POTS lines and one Gigabit Ethernet ports. The 7310 models also supports two T1/E1 interfaces that use standard PWE3 for circuit emulation over a packet network.
Industry standard SIP supplies reliable voice services while Zhone's experience with packet voice means the support of a large number of soft switches. The Gigabit Ethernet ports bring data services into the building.
Powering the 7300 models is supported over a standard 7-pin phoenix-type connector for battery backup support.
