This card supports the same feature set as the SIM2000-24 2.04.04 code.

Known Restrictions and Limitations

Currently the ESIM5700-48 can only achieve line rates of 2.3Mbps or lower per DSL port. This limitation will be corrected in a later release of code.

Currently the ESIM5700-48 does not support BERT. This feature will be added in a future release of code.

In order to maintain proper traffic flow, at least one MTM (Multi-media Traffic Management) (QoS) rule of any kind must be enabled at all times on each SDSL port. By default, there is one MTM VLAN rule enabled. This rule will pass all untagged traffic through the DSL port.

If VLAN tagged (802.1p) traffic is desired, additional MTM rules must be configured. VLAN Priority "P" tags must be configured in the Upstream network in order for Priority settings to function in the Downstream direction. The SMD2000 will add "P" tags for traffic flowing Upstream.

The ESIM5700-48 can only be configured in Provider mode. It will not support
Subscriber mode.

Compatibility Issues

The ESIM5700-48 must be installed in an IP DSLAM with a BSX8000-5 management card running firmware version 1.07.02 or higher.

The MUM2000-2 does not support the ESIM5700-48.

For optimal compatibility, Zhone recommends maintaining ESIM5700-48 firmware
at the latest available version. To upgrade the ESIM5700-48 card, refer to the Uprgrade procedure at http://www.zhone.com/support/manuals/docs/nettonet/230-0000032_r05.pdf

ESIM5700-48 firmware version 1.00.00 (or above) is required for SDSL loop bonding. The SHDSL equipment at both ends of a subscriber loop must be SHDSL loop bonding capable in order for the loop bonding feature to be utilized. Refer to Zhone's SDSL Loop Bonding Product to Product Feature Compatibility document at http://www.zhone.com/support/manuals/docs/AZ/COMP-A2-GK42-00.pdf for a complete list of loop bonding capable products and required firmware versions.

In order to remotely reset Zhone's SNE2040G-S (SHDSL CPE) via web management, the SNE2040G-S must have firmware version 6.00.00 or higher.
