New Features and Enhancements

Bug Fixes:

Traffic:
1)Added ability to learn on the G.SHDSL port(s) as well as the Ethernet port. This
enables the seemless move of a user from one side of the device(Ethernet) to the
other side (G.SHDSL).

SNMP:
1) You can now successfully change the SNMP read and write community strings via
SNMP.

Known Restrictions and Limitations

The IP Address (optional) needs to be put into the SNE2040 using a small Windows
command-line based utility that can be found at
http://www.zhone.com/support/downloads/tools/

Versions of firmware prior to 7.00.08 cannot be upgraded without changing the prom
first.

MIBs version 1.01.01 is needed in order to manage the SNE2040 units.

Compatibility Issues

Running the SNE2040 Windows Utility requires the use of Windows 2000 and Windows
XP. Win98 and earlier operating systems are not supported.

It is recommended that all programs including firewalls are turned off when using
the SNE2040 utility on your PC.

SNE2040G-S and SNE2040G-P Hardware Revision greater than or equal to 2, must have
firmware 7.00.01 or greater. Please contact Zhone support to find out the Hardware
Revision.

Firmware Upgrade Procedure:

Versions of firmware prior to 7.00.08 cannot be upgraded without changing the prom
first.

Additional Comments:

A MAC address must be configured on this device when programming the Boot Prom.
Please use the above mentioned MAC address offset as the location to program the MAC
address.
