Software Increment Release Notes ================================ Increment ID: I19A1610 Date created: April 25th, 2001 Title: ------ Memory Robustness and ISDN Enhancement Effect on Traffic / Warnings: ----------------------------- This increment has no effect on traffic. Detailed Description of Increment: ---------------------------------- Issue 1 - Memory leak improvement on the APU. This increment performs a SWitch of ACTivity (SWACT) when free memory runs out on the Access Processing Unit (APU). Issue 2 - Addition of the STOR log. This increment generates a STOR log at the end of a REX test to track potential memory issues. Issue 3 - NLIC store gobbler. This increment improves the efficiency of the Narrowband Line Interface Card's (NLIC) maintenance software. Issue 4 - Obtain correct selector value for a CRV. This part of the increment is only applicable to ISDN lines provisioned on an IG to a 5E switch with the network element multi-hosted on that 5E. Those ISDN lines provisioned to the 2nd IG can now be deleted. System Configuration / Shelf Type Requirements: ----------------------------------------------- This increment must be applied to all AN16.10 AccessNode configurations and shelf types. Prerequisite Increments Required: --------------------------------- Increments I00A1610 through I18A1610 must be successfully applied prior to application of this increment. Loads Affected: --------------- APU: ACCL16DI, ACCD16DI, ACCV16DI, ATBL16DI Special Instructions: --------------------- Please note the following: Upon initial application of this increment, a SWERR will be generated indicating that the STOR log has been defined. If the increment is removed and then reapplied for any reason after, SWERR logs will be generated indicating the existence of the already defined STOR log. These SWERR logs DO NOT have any effect on the functionality of the increment. Installation Instructions: -------------------------- Please refer to the Incremental Software Delivery Users Guide for general installation instructions. This document may be obtained from either the AccessWeb ISD web site (https://www23.nortelnetworks.com/ACCESS_OPTICAL/esd/), where the AccessNode increments are located, or you may order it through your Nortel Account Manager or Order Manager. The document number for the Incremental Software Delivery Users Guide is P0934362. Test Instructions: ------------------ Issues 1 through 3 - No testing required. Issue 4 - After applying the increment, provision an ISDN line on the 2nd IG. Try to delete it from the 5E and verify that the delete is successful and that it does not get stuck in "Service Request in Progress" state on the HMI.
