Software Increment Release Notes ================================ Increment ID: I29A1730 Date created: April 16, 2001 Title: ------ TXC and Time of Day Clock Enhancements Effect on Traffic / Warnings: ----------------------------- This increment has no effect on traffic. Detailed Description of Increment: ---------------------------------- Issue 1 - Loss of signal causes freerun to holdover on the Timing and Cross-Connect Card (TXC). This increment corrects the issue where the TXC enters freerun and then holdover mode after a loss of signal. The TXC should only enter into freerun mode. Issue 2 - Prevent non-timing DS1's from sending the TXC into holdover mode. This increment corrects the issue where all DS1's provisioned to an Access Node with their PM's turned on will cause the TXC to go into holdover mode if the PM threshold is exceeded. This should only occur on the DS1 that is the primary timing source. Issue 3 - Time Of Day (TOD) clock software revision. This increment corrects a TOD clock software issue that could potentially cause problems with the Maintenance Interface Card (MIC) and the processors over time. System Configuration / Shelf Type Requirements: ----------------------------------------------- This increment must be applied to all AN17.30 AccessNode configurations and shelf types. This increment affects the APU. Prerequisite Increments Required: --------------------------------- Increments I01A1730 through I28A1730 must be successfully applied prior to application of this increment. Loads Affected: --------------- APU: ACCL17AS Special Instructions: --------------------- None Applicable Installation Instructions: -------------------------- Please refer to the Incremental Software Delivery Users Guide for general installation instructions. This document may be obtained from either the AccessWeb ISD web site (https://www23.nortelnetworks.com/ACCESS_OPTICAL/esd/), where the AccessNode increments are located, or you may order it through your Nortel Account Manager or Order Manager. The document number for the Incremental Software Delivery Users Guide is P0934362. Test Instructions: ------------------ Issue 1 - Loss of signal causes freerun to holdover on TXC. Testing of this issue in a live office may affect traffic and is not recommended. Issue 2 - Prevent non-timing DS1's from sending the TXC into holdover mode. Monitor the PM's of all non-primary DS1's. If any exceed the threshold then verify that the TXC is not in holdover. Issue 3 - Time of day clock points to wrong register. No testing is required.
