Software Increment Release Notes ================================ Increment ID: I39A1730 Release: AN1730 Date created: 12-05-2002 Increment Type: OPC Title: OPC: Association Loss Alarm Feature with fixes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Following is a list of issues addressed in this Increment. See below for more details. 1. Association Loss Alarm Feature. 2. Prevention of Facility Assignment "Overlaps". 3. Correct the interpretation of parenthesis in the CONN-TACC command. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Association Loss Alarm Feature. * Description: This is new functionality in AN1730 that allows for Association Loss Alarms to be raised and lowered according to association loss/regain conditions. These new alarms show the NEId(s) of the NE(s) that have lost association to the OPC. * Impact: On an AccessNode OPC that has lost association to any NEs, no alarm is raised on the OPC. The impact would be that a loss of association may not be noticed at the time of the association loss. * Pre-Increment work-around: opcui alarm banner shows a question mark to indicate that association is lost to an NE. Reboot/Load Manager may be brought up to determine which NE has lost association. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Prevention of Facility Assignment "Overlaps". * Description: New functionality in AN1730 allowed for missing TIC subports to be marked as "Unavailable" by the Facility Assignment Manager. The algorithm used to determine if a TIC subport was 'unavailable' however did not take into account the possibility that the messages retrieved from the Network Element could be out of order. If messages were received out of order, the system could then reject an attempt to assign an unassigned facility. * Impact: On an AccessNode that returns these messages out of order, the impact would be that new facility assignments may not be possible. * Pre-Increment work-around: A tool exists on the OPC that will allow the craftsperson the ability to assign an unused facility without the use of the Facility Assignment Manager. The tool stpltxui can be used to assign a facility, with the following as an example: ED-VT1:98:1-CE1-S1TIC-1-1:CTAG::TYPE=GR303MVI,HOSTID=1,RDT=1; The tool on the OPC gives more examples and offers help in using the tool. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Correct the interpretation of parenthesis in the CONN-TACC command. * Description: This increment will correctly interpret and effect change on the NE when using values for tlpe and tlpf values when used with the CONN-TACC command. * Impact: Customers utilizing automated TL1-based test units such as the REACT test set could not change the dB levels contained in the tlpe and tlpf values. Refer to document 323-3001-190 for further information about the CONN-TACC command. * Pre-Increment work-around: The CHG-PRTPAR command can be used to change the port parameters. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Increments Needed: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Increments I01A1730 through I38A1730 need to be successfully applied prior to application of this increment. Loads Affected: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- After successful application of this increment, the OPC load will be: ACNL17BZ Special Instructions: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- None. Installation Instructions: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Please refer to the Incremental Software Delivery Users Guide for general installation instructions.
