Software Increment Release Notes ================================ Increment ID: I12A1800 Date created: 9/28/2000 CSR numbers: 50330716, 50328924,50329981, 50328135, 50330863, 50329182, 50329138 and 10359411. Title: ------ This increment adds code for several fixes that need to be propagated to the AN18 stream. Effect on Traffic: ------------------ This increment has no effect on traffic. Detailed Description of Increment: ---------------------------------- 1. Fixes a problem where TL1 is allowed to create CSC line terminations on nil_lens. If a line termination is in the "nil_len" state, then CSC services should not be allowed to be provisioned on it. In this fix, any CSC provisioning that comes through (regardless of source) for a nil_len line termination will be blocked. 2. Addresses an issue with audit handler that runs for ISDN lines with their loop down. Currently the audit sets an invalid state and it should set the line to a TSTF(test fail) state when it fails the audit. 3. This update adds code to disable babbling modem ports that threaten system stability. 4. The AIC COH swact issue is resolved. 5. The wait delay before the start of the DTAP recovery process has been changed. 6. When using the Nitsuko Key System in conjunction with the UE9000, lines are sent multiple messages causing the call to end unexpectedly. This change will acknowledge the messages and allow calls to complete as normal. 7. An event reporting problem is eliminated that previously caused MVI ISDN lines to remain out-of-service after a power cycle. System Configuration / Shelf Type Requirements: ----------------------------------------------- This increment must be applied to all AN18.00 AccessNode configurations and shelf types. Prerequisite Increments Required: --------------------------------- Increments I01A1800 - I11A1800 must be successfully applied prior to application of this increment. Loads Affected: --------------- APU: ACCL18BC Special Instructions: --------------------- **** PLEASE NOTE **** Calibration of DTAP MCU circuits may cause the FAIL LEDs to illuminate and extinguish several times before finally clearing. This should be ignored unless the FAIL LEDs remain illuminated after the calibration attempt. Installation Instructions: -------------------------- Download increment from the Web: Either a) download the increment directly to the /iswd directory on the OPC. b) download the increment to tape and insert into the OPC tape drive. Start up Incremental SW Del. from the Software Admin toolset on the OPC. Deliver the increment: 1) Select Deliver an Increment. 2) Type y to verify your selection. Verify the increment: 1) From the ISD main menu, select Display Increments. 2) Select Display to Screen. 3) Verify the increment delivered has the correct Title and Description. Also verify that the status is "READY TO APPLY". NOTE: If the increment is a Linecard only increment, the status will be "LOAD DELIVERED". 4) Press any key to return to the main menu. Apply the increment: 1) From the ISD main menu, select Apply an Increment. 2) In the list, select the number next to the increment you delivered. 3) Select one of these options: 1) Apply to ALL NEs (to set the increment fully into the system) 2) Trial on one NE (to test the increment to ensure that it causes no problems) If you select option 2, a list of NEs in the span of control appears. From the list of NEs, select the number next to the one you want to test. A confirmation screen appears. 4) Type y to verify your selection. 5) When the application is complete, press any key to scroll through the Summary screen(s) until you return to the main menu. 6) From the main menu, select Display Increments. 7) Select Display to Screen. 8) Verify that the status next to each NE now reads "APPLIED" (or "TRIAL APPLIED" if you chose to run a test in step 3 above). THIS INCREMENT INVOLVES THE APU, THEREFORE YOU MUST DO THE FOLLOWING STEP Dump the image: 1) From the ISD main menu, select Dump an APU Image. 2) Select one of the valid load types that can be dumped. 3) Select one of the valid NEs matching your previous parameters. 4) Type y to verify your selection. 5) When the image is complete, press any key to return to the main menu. 6) Repeat steps 2-5 for each load type available. Test Instructions: ------------------ 1. Verify correct operation of DTAP, if equipped. 2. Verify correct operation of NE modem ports.
