Software Increment Release Notes ================================ Increment ID: I07A1905 Release: AN1905 Date created: 3-1-2003 Increment Type: UER Title: UER: SSMAN, ADSL 4+4 changes, DMS10 to PBX forward disconnect ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Following is a list of issues addressed in this Increment. See below for more details. 1. Silent Switchman updates to allow UER test completion 2. ADSL 4+4 card template changes to improve hardware stability 3. Forward disconnect improvements to the DMS-10 to PBX ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Silent Switchman updates to allow UER test completion * Description: This increment, in addition to changes made in increment I05A1905, incorporates changes to allow the DMS family of switches to perform the Silent Switchman test on the UER platform. Note that increment I05A1905 must be applied in order for the test to function properly. * Pre-Increment Impact and work-around: Without the application of this and increment I05A1905, the SSMAN test will not operate on the UER platform. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. ADSL 4+4 card template changes to improve hardware stability * Description: Changes are introduced in this increment to provide for additional protection to the ADSL 4+4 (NTNP44AA) card against sudden changes in loop current from adversely affecting the ADSL 4+4 hardware. The changes in this increment will operate protection relays in such a manner as to provide maximum protection against destructive loop current. Note that increment I05A1905 must be applied to provide total operability of this increment. Refer to the Special Instructions section for detailed information on enabling this change on the Network Element. * Pre-Increment Impact and work-around: NTNP44AA circuit packs could fail during power surge events, requiring card replacement. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Forward disconnect improvements to the DMS-10 to PBX * Description: A call scenario exists for PBX / Ground Start lines served by an AccessNode off of a DMS-10 SMA, where the PBX line would be set to an off-hook state, while the DMS-10 line termination would display idle when queried. * Pre-Increment Impact and work-around: Ground-start PBX lines off the DMS-10 would require manual resets in order to continue to provide service. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Increments Needed: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Increments I01A1905 through I06A1905 need to be successfully applied prior to application of this increment. Loads Affected: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- After successful application of this increment, the UER load will be: URTDM19GB Special Instructions: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To enable the changes delivered in this increment for the ADSL 4+4 card (NTNP44AA), use the following procedure after Increments I05A1905, I06A1905 and I07A1905 have been applied: 1. Log into the Network Element with ADMIN privileges that has the 4+4 cards. 2. Enter ISDCI, and then enter the DISPLAY command. 3. If I05A1905 and I07A1905 are applied, then continue. If either of these are not applied then return to the OPC and apply the missing increment(s). 4. Enter MLCLDCI. 5. Execute the command UPDATETEMPLATE ALL UER NTNP44AA ALL NOTE: This command will immediately load all IDLE ADSL 4+4 lines. Any lines that are engaged in a call at the time of execution will not be affected, but will be loaded with the new template as soon as the line achieves the IDLE state. Installation Instructions: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Please refer to the Incremental Software Delivery Users Guide for general installation instructions.
