This line card supplement is for all AN18.00 customers. It provides an enhancement to the IDSL and 3DS0 ISDN line card services. This supplement improves the reliability of these service offerings, as well as introducing several service enhancements. These enhancements are: - discards erroneous messaging from the NT1 when it is marginal and producing frequent state changes (greater then 10 state changes per second). A system experiencing this fault will have user interface slow response times, and could also experience dialtone delays in extreme cases. - Extinguishes the ACT bit when no NT1 is plugged in. This load will now track to the proper illumination state based on the end-to-end circuit status. - Ensures proper operation of the CR light. - Drops layer two quickly on loss of loop. - Properly reports CRC errors in the upstream direction. - Reflects proper counts for SUSTATE (or the 5ESS equivalent) Test. Procedure 1. Get the load file onto the OPC with root priviledges. 2. Put the .tar file into /users/VFS/users/anonymous/lc 3. cd /users/VFS/users/anonymous/lc 4. tar -xvf *.tar 5. rm *.tar 6. chmod 777 *.JG 7. Login into the NE, execute the 'quit all' command. 8. LCLOADCI 9. Queryldmap sv {IDSL or ISDN_3DS0} Note the context in the "ServDft" column. This may be needed to restore service should an unforseen trouble arise. Also, note the linecards in the "LC Type" column. 10. setdftid serv {IDSL or ISDN_3DS0} {NT4K67AC NT4K67AB NTNP41AA*} ALL JG NOTE: The NTNP41AA is not supported in AN17. 11. Repeat steps 9 and 10 until all services and linecard types show the new context. 12. reloadlc all {CDS ANX UE} {IDSL or ISDN_3DS0} ALL ALL - You are prompted to enter Y if correct. Enter Y if it is. - You are notified that the service will be interrupted. Enter Y if that's OK. - You are asked if you would like to see the lines reloaded. Enter Y. 13. Enter the FWP screen, and post one of the lines impacted. If the line shows IS Trbl - Load Fail, then something has gone wrong. Begin at step 9 again, substituting the original context you jotted down from the 'ServDft' field. Perform the rest of this procedure to restore service, and contact the Zhone GSS team for assistance.
