Initial Release

  1. Feature Enhancements / Functional Changes

  2.

This release benefits port card release 4.2.29, which has the ability to configure On-Hook Voltage Drop Threshold values.

  3. Resolved Customer Issues
  4. Action Request Number
    Description
    MR phpcm000734
     MVL Japan Requirements:

    • Needed to add two fields to the port configuration screen to
allow additional DSP straps to be set.

    • The value strapped in the DSP for 10 dB for on and off hook
transmit power was changed from 0x5030 to 0x4778 in order
       to meet ADSL PSD compliance.

    • On-Hook Voltage Drop Threshold values are now available as
0 and 6 volts for the CO. 34 & Max volts for the endpoints.

The combination values are as follows:
0 volts on the CO and Max volts on the endpoint
are used to create an always off-hook condition.

0 volts on the CO and 34 volts on the endpoint
is used when there is a DC Blocking CAP CO Filter
          at the CO.

6 volts on the CO and 34 volts on the endpoint
is used when there is no DC Blocking CAP CO Filter
          at the CO.

    These are the default values:
6 volts on the CO and Max volts on the endpoint
           is an invalid combination.

  1. Hardware Co-Requirements

  2.

For proper operation with an 88xx/86xx DSLAM, this release requires an 8000 IP Conservative MCC, MCC Plus, or MCP with appropriate firmware:

    Card Type CCA # DSLAM
    8312 MVL 12 Port Card 868-3426-8201, Rev .80A 8610 and 8820
    8314 MVL 12 Port Card 868-4427-8000, Rev 80A 8820, 8620
    8000 IP Conservative MCC 868-1010-81xx (xx = 00, 01, 02, …) 8600, 8800, 8810
    8000 IP Conservative MCC Plus 868-3882-80xx (xx = 00, 01, 02, …) 8600, 8800, 8810
    8000 IP Conservative MCP 868-3883-80xx (xx = 00, 01, 02, …) 8610, 8820, 8620

  1. Software Co-Requirements

Card Type CCA # Minimum Firmware Requirements
    8312 MVL 12 Port Card 868-3426-8201, Rev .80A 04.00.38** or greater
    8314 MVL 12 Port Card 868-4427-8000, Rev 80A 04.00.38** or greater
    8000 IP Conservative MCC 868-1010-81xx (xx = 00, 01, 02, …) M04.00.38 or greater

    8000 IP Conservative MCP 868-3883-80xx (xx = 00, 01, 02, …) M04.00.38 or greater
**Note: The port card must be Rel. 4.2.29 to have the ability to configure On-Hook Voltage Drop Threshold values.

  1. Compatibility With Other Released Models
• 6310-A1 RTUs should not be used in a multi-point configuration on 8312 MVL line cards.

• 6310-A2 and 6310-A3 RTUs can be used in a multi-point configuration and can be mixed (i.e. , user can utilize -A2s and -A3s multi-dropped on the same port.)

• If loop length is greater that 8k better performance is achieved if there is at least one -A3 endpoint in the configuration.

NOTE: Do not load this firmware in an 6310-A1 or 6310-A2 modem.
