• 6310-A1 RTUs should not be used in a multi-point configuration on 8312 MVL line cards.

• 6310-A2 and 6310-A3 RTUs can be used in a multi-point configuration and can be mixed, ie. , user can utilize -A2s and -A3s multi-dropped on the same port.

• If loop length is greater that 8k better performance is achieved if there is at least one -A3 endpoint in the configuration.

** Note: ReachDSL (6350-Ax-xxx) end points should not be used in a multi-point configuration.

        5a.  Upgrading Procedures
This firmware is to be used when upgrading a 6350-A1, A2 ReachDSL End Point.  Once you upgrade an MVL (6310-A1, A2) End Point to ReachDSL (6350-A1, A2), the model number changes to 6350 and the End Point can't be down rev. back to MVL.  Any subsequent upgrades should be using the 6350 file. To check the model number for the End Point, go to the SN information screen (B-E) on the Line Card.  This only applies to End Points.  Line Cards can be down rev. back to MVL.  The following matrix displays the different file types.
