Upgrading 6381 1.1

Applicable 1.1 Releases:	1.1.x
Prerequisites:	telnet client ftp server capable of supporting "Passive Mode" Upgrade Package, 6381_0101xx.zip
Preparation:	Unzip the Upgrade Package and copy files to an ftp server directory as described in Preparing Files for Upgrade Review the example shown in the section entitled Sample Session

Procedure

Step	Command	Description
1.	telnet ipaddr	Access the 6381 telnet UI: ipaddr is the 6381 IP address
2.	login	login: User name root Default password: Admin
3.	/etc/upgrade ipaddr username password path	Run the upgrade driver: ipaddr is the ftp server IP address username and password are used for ftp server login path specifies the location of the files on the ftp server ("/" for ftproot) The upgrade driver will: Validate parameters, get and run the script 6381_upgrade.sh Get and install the new firmware Reboot the unit

Preparing Files for Upgrade

The Upgrade Package zip file contains all files required for upgrade:

The binaries directory contains run-time files which are loaded into 6381 flash
The directory 01_00 contains files used specifically for upgrade from 1.0 to 1.1 (not used in this procedure)
The directory 01_01 contains files used for upgrade from 1.1 to a newer 1.1 release

To prepare the files for upgrade:

Unzip the Upgrade Package.
Create a new directory accessible to the ftp server.
Copy all files from both the binaries and the 01_01 directory into the new directory.

Following is a sample upgrade session.

The IP Address of the 6381 is 135.26.23.81
The IP Address of the ftp server is 135.26.4.74
The ftp server username/password is anonymous/none
All files are installed in the directory 01_01 (relative to the ftp server root directory)
